A STORY THAT COMES FROM THE JURA REGION
“A diadem of evergreens Beneath my brow like a thought
The grey conch of my birthplace
In the dark and sovereign green“ Maximine
The Jura region, its natural beauty, its history, its forests as far as the eye can see, and its expertise in handcrafted eyewear. Heirs of this region and of this artisanal expertise that dates to the 18th century, we are taking our art beyond the Jura for the sake of posterity. François Régé Turo & Paul de Labriffe
HEIRS TO JURA CRAFTSMANSHIP
At the heart of its mountains and its forests, the Jura region is home to a treasure that has been honed through the centuries: a unique artisanal skill in creating eyewear. We are preserving this exceptional know-how, respected the world over, so that we can share it.
THE ORIGINS OF BAUDIN
The Baudin forges have left their mark on the history of the Jura and its artisanal know-how. Much more than a business, the factory became a social enterprise based on mutual support and community. A veritable family spirit developed over generations, founded on solidarity and exchange between Baudin workers. The last furnace was extinguished in 1959, but not the Baudin spirit! Through our name, we have chosen to pay homage to this rich history imbued with meaning and values.
Our Jura workshop
Situated in Champagnole, in close proximity to nature and its materials, this is where we develop new models and work on researching new materials specific to our artisanal approach. With our master artisans, this is where we preserve our expertise and our roots.
